In Focus, Bangkok Photography Blog

In Focus, Bangkok Images first appeared on Stickmanbangkok.com on August 2, 2008. Photography, and digital photography specifically, has become very popular for even the most casual tourist and most travellers getting off a plane in Bangkok carry a digital camera, be it a common compact, to an advanced DSLR, to even a cell phone with still image capability.

Thailand is a fantastic destination for photographers of all types and skill levels. Landscapes, portraits, architectural, street photography, and just plain tourist snapshot opportunities are everywhere. This weekly will strive to bring readers a series of educational articles, up to date discussion of the latest photo gear, a weekly photo outing of the Bangkok or Thailand area, answer questions, and share readers' photographs and experiences with other readers. I hope you'll find it fun, interesting, and rewarding. BKKSteve of Bangkok Images is the author of this weekly column and brings with him decades of experience as a photographer. He runs his own photography business in Bangkok that centers around photo services such as weddings, portraits, and assignments, and he also runs photography workshops to help you improve your skills either as part of a group receiving instruction, or through individual instruction. Instruction is scheduled for all levels of experience. Like the Stickman weekly column, In Focus will be published by this time each Saturday.

Auckland 11 PM    Sydney 9 PM    London 11 AM   New York 6 AM    Los Angeles 3 AM

All past columns will remain online, permanently archived. Feedback is very welcome. If there is any area of instruction you would like to see covered, places of interest you'd like to know more about because you're considering a visit for the purposes of photography, or anything at all related to photography and / or photography in Thailand, please send it in. Contributions are also welcome. If you've been to Thailand and have images you'd like to see appear in the column, please send images which are 800 pixels on their largest size, and complete exfil data to include the camera used, exposure mode, camera settings (aperture and shutter speed), and what program you used to process the image. Also include a short narrative describing the location, time of day, and anything interesting about the shot and how you captured it. Anyone with questions related to photography are encouraged to send them in and all will be answered. Questions deemed of use to a wide audience will be published in this weekly. Send images, experiences, and questions to: QandA@bkkimages.com.
